We’re so excited to have you (and your pup!) join Furever LLC in the Hanover Christmas Parade as part of our festive group,
Santa Paws & the Furever Elves!
Before registering, please review all the details below to help us keep the event safe, coordinated,
and fun for everyone — two- and four-legged alike!
DEADLINE TO REGISTER OCTOBER 30TH
🐾 Handler Attire
All handlers should wear:
You’re welcome to accessorize with festive shoes, socks, hats, headbands, antlers, or jewelry — let your holiday spirit shine!
🐶 Dog Attire
Custom-made elf costumes will be provided for your pup to wear on parade day.
Dogs must use black leashes and harnesses (if using a harness).
We ask that costumes be returned after the parade so they can be reused for future events.
If you’d like your pup to wear their costume around the Hanover Christmas Festival afterward, that’s perfectly fine — just please return it before leaving the event.
Costumes can be dropped off at the Emerge Church Hot Chocolate Booth near Santa’s Cabin.
Please place the costume back in its labeled bag with your name for our records.
🚶♀️ Dog Readiness
Before registering, please consider if your dog is a good candidate for parade participation. Each pup should be able to:
Comfortably walk over 2 miles (the parade lasts about 30 minutes)
Remain calm around loud noises, crowds, and other dogs
Be safely managed by their handler for the entire duration of the event
🎄 Parade Day Details
📍 Line-Up Location: Baer Avenue
🕙 Arrival: 10:00 AM
📸 Group Photo & Line-Up/Judging: 10:15/10:30 AM
🎉 Parade Begins: 11:00 AM
You will check in with Linda Myers upon arrival.
Parking may be limited, so please plan to arrive early to allow extra time to unload, walk to the staging area, and settle in before lineup.
💩 Pre-Parade Prep
Please:
Let your pup go potty before arrival — and yes, humans too! 😄
Bring poop bags (just in case)
Bring a few treats to keep your pup focused and happy
Feed a light breakfast that morning
Pack water and a small bowl for after the parade
🦮 Safety & Spacing
To keep everyone safe and comfortable:
Dogs must remain on leash at all times.
No retractable leashes — they tangle easily and are not safe
Maintain 3–4 feet of space between dogs during lineup and the parade.
Please avoid nose-to-nose greetings while waiting; excitement levels can be high.
If your dog becomes anxious or reactive, it’s completely okay to step out — your pup’s safety and comfort come first.
👉 Important: Any instances of aggression or loss of control during practice sessions or the parade itself may result in the handler being asked to step out or uninvited from participating in the parade. Our top priority is keeping all dogs, handlers, and spectators safe while ensuring a positive experience for everyone involved.
💲 Registration Policy
Please note that registration is non-refundable.
Funds help cover costume materials and parade participation costs for the group.
We can’t wait to spread some Christmas cheer together as Santa Paws & the Furever Elves!
Thank you for helping make this event safe, joyful, and memorable for our community! 💛
